This Women’s Month Rotary Club Cape of Good Hope have launched a donation drive to help less fortunate women in our community feel special.
In the spirit of the 20 000 women who marched on the Union Buildings in 1956 to protest Apartheid pass laws – let’s help women in need move forward with pride and a sense of self-worth.
Most women have a scarf, handbag or item of clothing that they may have bought on a whim or had been given as a present and never used. Why let these things go to waste when they could help give someone a fresh new start?
We will be collecting donations of good quality clothing, handbags and accessories throughout the month.
“The donation drive is a beautiful idea to make less fortunate women feel valued and able to shine bright again,” said Club President, Owen Govender.
We will be working with local women’s shelters and initiatives to make sure donations are put to good use.
