“We had a really good turn out and raised a record R4 000 this quiz night,” said Rotary COGH Treasurer, Tracey Richardson.

“The full proceeds of the quiz night will go to the EVS to support their activities in our community,” she added.

Tyree Jacobs of the Emergency Assistance Volunteer Support (EVS) explained to the quiz competitors about the services this group of young volunteers provide.

Tyree Jacobs of the EVS said “we are ready to serve whenever and wherever needed”.

“We are a group of volunteers and we are committed to keeping our community safe.

“We attend a lot of different emergency events from car accidents to wild fires in our local areas. Sometimes we are called on to help in other areas too.”
